Right Circular Cone Equations

1. Slant Height (l): l = √(r² + h²)

2. Curved Surface Area (CSA): CSA = π × r × l

3. Total Surface Area (TSA): TSA = πrl + πr² = πr (l + r)

4. Volume (V): V = 1/3 × π × r² × h

Finding CSA and Volume

SOLVED EXAMPLE

Find the CSA and Volume of a cone with radius 7 cm and height 24 cm

1. Find slant height l:

l = √(7² + 24²) = √(49 + 576) = √625 = 25 cm

2. Calculate CSA:

CSA = (22/7) × 7 × 25 = 22 × 25 = 550 cm²

3. Calculate Volume:

V = 1/3 × (22/7) × 7² × 24 = 1/3 × 22 × 7 × 24 = 22 × 7 × 8 = 1232 cm³
